Against the Oman Free Trade Agreement!
Hi, my name is ______________ and I’m calling from
_____________________ to ask you to take a minute and call or email Rep.
__________ in opposition to the Oman Free Trade Agreement (OFTA), an
anti-animal free trade agreement.. Have you heard
about OFTA?
If Yes:
Great! Well I’m sure you
know how important it is that we prevent the bill from passing.
If No:
OFTA was approved by the
Senate and we’re trying to prevent it from passing in the House of Represenatives..
OFTA is being voted on in
the house in the next week and we could really use your help! You can call Rep.
____________ at _____________(DC Office Number) and email her/him at ____________. When you call ask to speak to the aide on trade
issues. Urge her/him to vote NO! on OFTA. Tell the
aide that OFTA’s weak environmental provisions and unlimited
investor protections could destroy habitats, threaten endangered species, and
weaken animal protection Be sure to give your name and address when you
call and ask for a statement on your rep’s position on OFTA in writing,
preferably by email. Do you have any questions? This bill will be voted on Wednesday or
Thursday of this week, so it’s urgent to contact your Representative as soon as
possible. Can we count on you to call her/him? Thanks for your support!
If the person is not home, leave a voicemail!

Agreement (OFTA). OFTA was approved last week by the Senate and we’re trying to

environmental provisions and unlimited investor protections could destroy
habitats, threaten endangered species, and weaken animal protection laws and its
elimination of trade barriers will create new markets for factory farmed animal
products.
